Jordyn is Michigan grown and had an early passion for social and environmental justice through community stewardship, action and advocacy. She has spent over a decade engaging in food systems and environmental justice work, having spent the last eight years through collaborating as a community to cultivate equitable, sustainable and just means of access to our most basic needs through farm based education development and deliverance, agriculture, outreach, community organizing, action and advocacy. Her work has gained wider recognition such as through the Wilmington Business Journal Healthcare Hero award for Community Outreach in 2018 and the StarNews and Wilmington Chamber of Commerce 40 Under 40 in 2020.

In 2015, she transplanted to Wilmington as a FoodCorps service member, spending two years engaging students, school communities and local partners in school garden and nutrition education before transitioning into her current role as the Local Motive Program Director. Now addressing the issue of a lack of access to fresh, local and healthy foods through the Local Motive Mobile Farmers Market. She is constantly empowered and humbled while engaging with the community in helping to create collaborative efforts to mobilize and build a local, accessible food system that is equitable, sustainable and healthy.

Jordyn is additionally the female and plant half of Greensky Farms just outside of Wilmington in Yamacraw, cultivating and honoring the land through regenerative practices; and is the Secretary for the Board of Directors for the Northside Food Co-op. Catch her on her off time outside; whether it's working, foraging and learning from the land, hiking with her dogs or making her way to the water.
